Overview
We recently completed a full back to brick strip out for a local developer in Stoke-on-Trent, preparing the property for a complete refurbishment.
The goal was to return the building to a clean shell so the developer and trades could clearly assess the structure and plan the next stage of work.
The Challenge
This project required a full internal strip out, removing all existing materials back to the original structure.
The developer needed complete visibility of the building to understand exactly what work was required before moving forward.
This type of project demands careful coordination to ensure everything is removed safely while keeping the site organised and ready for the next phase.
The Work Carried Out
Our team delivered a full strip out, taking the property back to brick throughout.
This included:
• Removing all internal walls back to brick
• Dropping ceilings across the property
• De nailing ceiling joists
• Removing old electrical cabling
• Removing redundant water and gas pipework
• Clearing all waste and debris from site
The focus was on creating a clean and open shell, giving the developer a clear starting point for the refurbishment.
Waste Volumes and Management
This project generated a significant volume of waste, all of which was managed and separated on site.
Materials removed included:
• Approximately 10 tonnes of rubble
• 2 van loads of timber
• 2 van loads of plasterboard
• Half a van of mixed general waste
All materials were separated at source and transported to licensed waste transfer stations. This approach improves recycling rates and helps keep disposal costs under control.
Programme
The full strip out and clearance was completed within 10 days from start to finish.
Working to a defined timeframe ensured the developer could move straight into the next phase without delays.
The Outcome
With the building stripped back to its core structure, the developer now has complete visibility of the property.
This allows for:
• Accurate assessment of the building condition
• Better planning of refurbishment works
• More control over timelines and budgets
• A smoother transition into the construction phase
By carrying out a full strip out at the start, the project is set up for a more efficient and predictable refurbishment.
