Battery Safe containers

If you’re looking for a regular battery collection service, we invite you to try our Battery Safe scheme. This scheme is designed for schools, offices, factories, and any other organisation that gets through a lot of batteries!

This solution offers you somewhere safe to store any spent batteries as well as giving us an easy way to load and transport them to our disposal sites. The containers come in two sizes:

BS20

  • Designed for smaller batteries such as those found in appliances

  • 20-liter capacity

  • Can hold up to 50kg of mixed batteries.

BS750

  • For sites that use large batteries (or lots of small ones)

  • Can be used for mixed dry cell or lead acid type batteries (for safety reasons please keep these types separate)

  • 600-liter capacity

  • Holds 750kg of mixed batteries

Both options will be delivered to your site and will be collected when filled with no time limit, these can be collected weekly, fortnightly or when notified. Please note all our quotes include the transport, consignment note, and recycling costs in line with our transparent pricing policy.

Please be aware that lithium cells or button cell-type batteries cannot be accepted in either container. If you have these types of batteries, please get in touch with us for an alternative quotation. Additionally, if mixed (dry and wet cell) batteries have been placed in the BS750 container, a higher charge will apply to cover additional segregation. Finally, for safety reasons, it is essential to remove all lead wires from batteries, and any damaged or leaking batteries must be securely stored in strong, sealed plastic bags.

If your organisation uses a lot of lead-acid batteries, our Battery Safe BS750 container is a great solution for their safe storage once they are spent.

Whilst lead-acid batteries require special handling due to their hazardous components, once broken down to component level they are highly recyclable. Our disposal procedures ensure your spent lead-acid batteries are handled in the most environmentally friendly way.
