Overview
We recently completed a clearance and strip out project in Hanley town centre, preparing the building for the next phase of renovation.
The developer needed the space opened up and ready for inspection and follow on trades. Our role was to remove internal structures and clear the site while working to a specific brief from the builders.
The Challenge
This project involved removing a large amount of internal stud walling to create a more open and workable space.
One of the key requirements was to carry out a partial strip out, rather than removing everything.
In several areas, sections of the ceiling were carefully opened up while the majority was left in place.
This allowed the builders to:
• Inspect the condition of the timber structure
• Assess the building before further work
• Install services where needed
At the same time, it avoided unnecessary work where materials were going to be retained and over boarded later in the project.
The Work Carried Out
Our team delivered a controlled strip out and clearance, tailored to the needs of the refurbishment.
This included:
• Removal of internal stud walls
• Selective opening of ceiling areas
• Clearance of waste and debris from site
• Preparing the building for the next phase of work
The focus was on leaving a clean, safe and accessible space so the developer and contractors could move straight into the next stage.
Waste Management and Compliance
All waste materials were separated on site to improve recycling rates and reduce disposal costs.
Materials were then transported to licensed waste transfer stations, ensuring everything was handled responsibly and in line with regulations.
This approach not only supports compliance but also helps keep project costs under control.
The Outcome
The building was handed back to the developer fully cleared and ready for renovation work to begin.
By carrying out a targeted strip out rather than a full removal, the project avoided unnecessary time and cost while still achieving the required outcome.
